29, 2004 Annual Arrival Ceremony of Kunta Kinte to Include
a Slavery Reconciliation Walk Thru Annapolis
Every year on September 29th Kunta Kinte Celebrations presents
a ceremony at the Annapolis City Dock. This ceremony commemorates
Kunta Kinte's arrival on this day in 1767 aboard the slave
ship Lord Ligonier and also his spirit and courage
which continues to encourage and inspire individuals from
many ethnic groups who struggle to preserve their cultural
heritage.
The 2004 commemoration, to be coordinated by the Kunta Kinte-Alex
Haley Foundation in partnership with the Lifeline Expedition
Group of London, England will include a quarter-mile walk
thru the historical city of Annapolis. For details about
