Location, and Directions to The Kunta Kinte-Alex Haley Memorial Location: The Kunta Kinte - Alex Haley Memorial sits at the foot of the city harbor in the heart of historic downtown Annapolis, Maryland. It is located directly across the street from the Market House, and within two blocks of both Maryland's State House and the U.S. Naval Academy. Directions: From Washington, D.C.  Take 50 East toward the Bay Bridge and exit at Rowe Boulevard, Exit 24 in Annapolis.   Stay on Rowe Boulevard heading east until it splits with Northwest Street, veer to the right onto Northwest Street.  Turn right at Church Circle.   Remain in the right lane and exit at Duke of Gloucester Street.   Turn left at Green Street.  The bottom of Green Street merges with the Annapolis City Dock area and Hopkins Plaza. Make a right turn and follow the Circle around to the water side.  The Memorial is on the right at the head of the harbor. From Baltimore, Maryland  Take 97 South from the Baltimore 695 Beltway.  At the end of 97 merge onto Route 50 East toward the Bay Bridge.  Exit at Rowe Boulevard, Exit 24 in Annapolis.   Stay on Rowe Boulevard heading east until it splits with Northwest Street, veer to the right onto Northwest Street.  Turn right at Church Circle.   Remain in the right lane and exit at Duke of Gloucester Street. Turn left at Green Street.   The bottom of Green Street merges with the Annapolis City dock area and Hopkins Plaza.  The Memorial is on the right at the foot of the harbor. Parking: Visitor parking is available at the downtown Hillman Garage off Main Street, and Gott's Court Garage or the Whitmore Garage, both located off Calvert Street.   Parking is also available at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium off Rowe Boulevard - - you can take the trolley-shuttle into downtown. Additional shuttle service will be available on the day of the dedication ceremony -- June 12, 2002. Limited metered parking spaces and two hour residential zone parking is also available. Please note that parking is strictly enforced in metered and residential areas.
